Office relocations
Whole-floor and whole-building moves planned around a Friday shutdown and a Monday start.
- 48 hrs · Typical shutdown window
- Perth metro and interstate

Why this is its own work package
A commercial relocation is a construction-style project that happens to involve furniture. The move itself is the easiest part. What decides whether your staff work on Monday is the sequence: when the dock is booked, when the comms room is live, when the workstations come apart, and who signs off each floor as clear.
Coastline runs Perth office relocations as a single program with one relocation manager, a written runsheet distributed before the Friday shutdown, and a per-item manifest that ties every crate, chair and monitor to a destination workpoint number.
What is included
Everything below is in the base project price unless the proposal says otherwise.
Site survey and floor audit
We walk both tenancies, record workstation counts, desk types, monitor arms, storage units and loose furniture, and photograph every access constraint: dock height, goods lift internal dimensions, door widths and turning circles.
Workpoint numbering plan
Your new floor plan is numbered. Every crate, monitor bag and chair carries a matching colour-coded label, so the unload crew places items without asking questions.
Crate delivery and staged packing
Crates land five business days out. Staff pack their own workpoints on the Thursday; we pack shared areas, kitchens, print rooms, compactus and reception.
Dismantle, transport and install
Workstations come apart on the Friday evening, travel in blanket-wrapped modules and are rebuilt on the Saturday to the new plan, with desk heights reset and cable trays re-run.
Comms room and IT sequencing
The comms room moves as its own work package with the IT team, ahead of the furniture, so the network is testable before the first workstation lands.
Day-one floor walk and defect list
Your relocation manager walks each floor on the Monday morning with facilities, logs anything that needs adjusting and returns a crew that week to clear the list.
How it runs
Survey and scope
On site with facilities and IT. We produce a scope document, a crate schedule and a draft runsheet, usually within three business days.
Approvals and bookings
Dock bookings, goods lift allocations, after-hours building access and certificates of currency are lodged with both building managers.
Pack week
Crates, labels, monitor sleeves and archive cartons are delivered with a short floor briefing for staff.
Shutdown and move
Friday 5:00 pm onwards. Comms room first, then workstations, then storage and loose furniture.
Install and test
Saturday rebuild. IT patch and test on the Sunday. Crates are positioned at numbered workpoints ready for unpack.
Monday support and crate collection
A small crew stays on site Monday for adjustments. Crates are collected on the agreed day, usually five business days later.
What drives the price
Commercial work is quoted as a project price, so these are the variables a relocation manager measures on the site survey.
- Workstation count
- The primary driver. Most Perth offices sit between 8 and 14 minutes of crew time per workstation across dismantle, transport and install.
- Floors and lift access
- A dedicated goods lift with dock access is fastest. Shared passenger lifts, stair carries above level two, or a single lift servicing the whole tower add crew hours.
- Dock booking window
- Many CBD towers allow only a two or three hour after-hours dock slot. Tight slots mean more vehicles running in parallel.
- Furniture type
- Electric sit-stand desks, monitor arms and compactus systems each take longer than fixed-leg desks and mobile pedestals.
- Distance between sites
- Under 10 km the trucks shuttle. Beyond that, we size the fleet so no crew waits for a vehicle.
- Storage requirement
- Fitout delays are normal. Storage is priced per module per week and quoted separately so it is visible in the budget.
All figures quoted across this site are sample placeholders for a demonstration website. A real proposal follows a site survey of both tenancies.
Questions we get asked first
Staff pack their own workpoint, which is usually two crates and a monitor sleeve, on the Thursday. We pack everything shared: kitchens, print rooms, compactus, reception, stationery stores and the comms room.
It can, and for small tenancies under 20 workstations it often makes sense. Above that, most Perth buildings restrict dock and goods lift use to after hours, so a Friday evening start is both cheaper and faster.
We stage the consignment in secure storage at the Osborne Park depot and re-deliver when practical completion is issued. Storage is quoted per module per week from the start so there is no surprise variation.
We do. Your relocation manager lodges dock bookings, lift allocations, after-hours access forms and certificates of currency at both ends, and copies you on all of it.
